As the vibrant hues of spring begin to blossom, it’s time to start planning for a school holiday that your child will never forget! Therapy Care’s School Holiday Program is back, and this year we’ve curated a schedule packed with exciting and educational activities specifically designed for school-aged NDIS participants. Running from Monday, 30 September, to Friday, 11 October, this two-week adventure is not just about fun — it’s about growth, learning, and making lasting memories.
Here’s a sneak peek into some of the exciting activities we have planned:
Imagine a day filled with vibrant flowers, lush landscapes, and hidden treasures! A trip to Hunter Valley Gardens offers an enriching experience where children can connect with nature, explore sensory environments, and enjoy the tranquillity that only a garden can provide. The diversity of the garden’s layout encourages sensory exploration, helping children with disabilities engage with their environment in a safe and stimulating way.
Swimming is more than just a way to cool off — it’s an excellent activity for building water confidence and improving physical coordination. Our supervised swimming sessions offer a safe environment where children can participate in fun games, learn new skills, and enjoy the freedom of movement that water provides. Whether your child is just starting or already loves the water, this activity promotes both physical and emotional well-being.
Rock climbing is a fantastic way to build teamwork, concentration, and physical fitness. This challenging yet rewarding activity allows children to push their boundaries, develop problem-solving skills, and gain a sense of accomplishment. With expert supervision, participants can safely navigate their climbs, learning to trust their abilities and the support of others — a valuable lesson in collaboration and self-confidence.
Sensory play is vital for children’s development, especially for those with sensory processing challenges. Our Messy Play & Art sessions are designed to stimulate creativity while providing a therapeutic outlet for expression. Children can explore different textures, colours, and materials in a fun, unstructured environment, promoting sensory integration and enhancing fine motor skills.
Get ready for an adrenaline rush at Spring Loaded! This activity combines fun and fitness, offering a variety of trampoline-based exercises that help improve balance, coordination, and strength. Jumping and bouncing aren’t just great for physical health — they’re also a fantastic way to release energy, boost mood, and have loads of fun with friends!
Our Beach Day is all about enjoying the great outdoors. The beach provides a natural sensory experience where children can feel the sand between their toes, listen to the waves, and enjoy the refreshing sea breeze. Beach activities, from sandcastle building to playing in the surf, encourage social interaction, physical activity, and relaxation, all while under the careful supervision of our trained staff.
Bowling is a classic activity that’s perfect for all abilities. It’s not just about knocking down pins; it’s about building hand-eye coordination, practising patience, and enjoying the thrill of friendly competition. Whether your child is a first-time bowler or a seasoned pro, our bowling day promises plenty of smiles and high-fives.
Don’t Miss Out!
