Therapy Care is bringing the heat to this summer’s School Holiday Program, tailor-made for children living with disabilities aged 6 to 18 years old, from primary to high school. Running from January 6 to January 17, 2025, this four-week program is packed with activities that inspire, educate, and bring joy in a safe and supportive environment. Children will be encouraged to get creative, learn new life skills, and build social connections while having an unforgettable summer.
“My daughter had an incredible experience—not only did she have fun, she learnt so much. In 2 weeks, she entered a quiet, shy mouse and became a very confident, loud lion. So blessed to have found these carers who took her under their wing. Watch this girl fly—thanks, Therapy Care.” — Jayne Brooks
With experiences like these, it’s easy to see why our School Holiday Program is so cherished by families. While the complete program is yet to be released, here’s an exclusive sneak peek at some of the exciting activities* your child can look forward to this January:
What’s summer without a day at the beach? Therapy Care’s Beach Day offers children a chance to experience the natural beauty of the coast, with activities including sandcastle building, splashing in the waves, and soaking up the sun. This day is perfect for relaxation, sensory exploration, and plenty of social interaction, creating cherished summer memories.
A classic bowling day adds fun and excitement to the holiday! Bowling is more than just knocking down pins—it helps build hand-eye coordination, patience, and teamwork. Whether your child is a beginner or an experienced bowler, this activity promises a mix of friendly competition and skill development.
Swimming sessions are an excellent way for children to cool off while boosting water confidence and improving physical coordination. Hosted at a local pool, these sessions provide a safe, supervised environment where kids can learn new swimming skills or enjoy some fun in the water. It’s the perfect blend of exercise, learning, and enjoyment.
For children who love the great outdoors, our bushwalking day is a must! This activity offers a chance to connect with nature, explore local trails, and develop a sense of adventure. Not only does bushwalking promote physical fitness, but it also stimulates the senses and nurtures a love for the environment.
Independence is a key part of growing up, and our travel training day is designed to help children learn to navigate public transport safely and confidently. With guidance from our experienced staff, participants will gain practical experience using buses, trains, and other transit modes, enhancing their self-reliance and life skills.
*The program and activities listed above are subject to change up until the day the program is released.
