At Therapy Care, we believe in the power of community and the impact it can have on our journey towards better health and well-being. Our group therapy programs are specifically designed for people living with disabilities who have mobility or movement goals, or who are rehabilitating from muscle injuries. These programs offer a supportive, social environment where you can work towards your goals with others who share similar experiences.
We offer a variety of programs tailored to different participants, age groups, and goals. Whether you're a school-aged child, a teenager, or an adult, we have something for you. Our after-school programs align with the school terms, providing structured and engaging activities that promote physical and social development.
Our Lego Group program is a structured social program designed for both children and teens. It takes a strengths-building approach and provides:
✨ A shared focus to improve skills
✨ An opportunity to foster peer-to-peer relationships
✨ An environment to have fun
This program not only helps in building physical skills but also promotes social interaction and teamwork.
Our Art Therapy Group is another structured social program targeted at children and teens. Run by Therapy Care’s team of recreational therapists, this program aims to increase each participant’s ability to:
✨ Reduce stress and enhance wellbeing
✨ Improve fine motor skills
✨ Generate new and creative ideas
✨ Improve problem-solving skills
✨ Practice social skills in a fun environment
Art Therapy is a fantastic way to express creativity while working on important therapeutic goals.
Our group rehabilitation program focuses on improving the functional capacity of our participants through multi-disciplinary therapy. These circuit-style classes feature up to 30 different exercise stations, designed to be completed in a two-hour time frame. The stations include exercises that focus on:
Gross motor skills
Fine motor skills
Stretching
Mobility
Strength
Cardiovascular health
For strength and cardiovascular exercises, we utilise gym equipment as needed to target all areas of physical functioning. This class is ideal for individuals with neuromuscular conditions or disabilities requiring regular therapy to maintain or improve functional capacity.
Our support team for these classes includes at least one therapist specialising in Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy, or Recreational Therapy. The team is complemented by Allied Health Assistants and Support Workers, ensuring comprehensive support for all participants.
Participating in our group therapy programs offers numerous benefits beyond physical improvements. These programs provide a unique opportunity for social interactions within the community, helping you build relationships and experience a sense of belonging. Being in a group setting allows you to share your journey with others, fostering a supportive environment where everyone works towards their goals together.
Join us at Therapy Care and be a part of our vibrant, supportive community. Together, we can achieve your mobility, movement, and rehabilitation goals while building lasting connections and enjoying a sense of camaraderie.
