The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to people living with disability. This funding allows people with disability to gain access to support services they require to live a full and comfortable life. The NDIS is goal orientated and is designed to facilitate the unique needs of every participant. Support such as respite, is also available for participants’ families and carers, to help strengthen the support systems of individuals living with disability.
All Australian residents above the age of 7 and under the age of 65 may be eligible to receive specialized care via the NDIS. To receive NDIS funding you must be living with a permanent or serious disability including psychosocial conditions, that impacts your everyday living and requires assistance from others or equipment to complete certain tasks.
Therapy Care is a registered disability support provider under the NDIS. We provide plan management, functional assessments, and everyday living support services to NDIS participants living with a disability in Brisbane. There is a wide range of support services offered under the NDIS including supports such as personal care, domestic assistance, grocery shopping, cooking, and garden maintenance.
At times the NDIS may seem intimidating and confusing, especially to vulnerable members of the disability community. Therapy Care understands this and works with participants to breakdown the process and provide support at every step of their NDIS journey. If you are not receiving any form of disability support, but think you may be eligible, you will need to fill out an Access Request form. These forms are available from your Local Area Coordinator, Early Childhood Early Intervention partner (if your child is under seven), your local NDIA office or you can call 1800 800 110.
