Keiara is another participant who has achieved an incredible milestone in 2021. Keiara, who is living with high functioning ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) level 2 and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) – was looking for support to reach her full academic potential in her final two years of high school.
When this goal was set two years ago, Therapy Care rallied to ensure the right people were a part of Keiara’s support team. Over the last two years, Keiara has been receiving one-on-one social support with Bianca, who helps her with her studies as well as recreational activities. Keiara also works with Speech Pathologist Kira, who supports her with her communication. On top of this Keiara also participates in group program and art therapy where she socialises, gets creative and participates in activities that challenge her while getting out and about.
The combination of the above support, ensured Keiara stayed on track with her studies while working on lifeskills and having fun – all extremely important components of building a life rich in opportunity.
In year 11 and 12 Keiara’s areas of study were Science, Legal Studies, Entertainment, English and Geography. This is a substantial workload, but with determination, consistency and her support team behind her, Keiara succeeded with flying colours.
Keiara was offered early admission to Western Sydney University. While receiving this offer before the final exams, Keiara still applied herself meticulously and made her best attempt at achieving her full potential.
We’re proud to report that Keiara will be going onto University to study a Bachelor of Social Science.
Keiara says, “I have enjoyed being with Therapy Care. They have helped me achieve a lot in the past two years.”
